My Real name is Deric, but my Cosplay alias is Jasaad (after one of my favorite PS2 Game villains). I plan to use this blog to post my Cosplay experiences, Conventions I will attend and who I will be cosplaying/crossplaying as, Yes you heard right crossplay :P I love doing female characters, I more than likely tend to fool 80-90 % of con attendees in thinking that I am really a woman and when they find out the shock value is priceless :D I love turning grown adults into blithering idiots :) So any way this new show "Heroes of Cosplay really kind of ticks me off cause last night there was just a lot of bullshit being said about the "do's and don't" of Cosplaying by some of the main/popular/"big time" Cosplayers so here is my Belief about Cosplay. "Cosplay is about embodying a character that you wish/dream of being. Making a costume from scratch or finding and buying pieces already made and altering them to work for your cosplay, doing the best you can with the skills you have/know. Cosplay knows no boundaries, if you want to be your gender or not, the key is to be confident no matter the awkward stares or whispering, as long as you look the part all the rest is out the window. The end result come convention time, owning your costume and character not letting anyone take that happiness from you. I am a Cosplayer/Crossplayer and I approve this message. So yeah that's my belief, if there is a character you want to do then do it, screw everyone else OWN IT! Talk to ya all later, more postins will come soon :)
